Can I take Elderberry syrup if pregnant/breastfeeding?
There is insufficient clinical data to determine the safety of elderberry syrup in pregnancy. Although I took it myself whilst both pregnant and breastfeeding, you should ask the specific advice of your own healthcare professional responsible for your care.
What is the shelf-life of the syrup once made up?
If stored in the fridge it should last up to 3 weeks.
What is the shelf life of the dried ingredients in the kit?
Each pouch is stamped with the "use by" date for the dried ingredients. We aim to offer at least a 9 month shelf life on all kits.
Can the made-up syrup be frozen?
Yes! We recommend freezing in ice cube trays so you can quickly defrost and refill your fridge stash if needed.
Is the honey included?
No, you need to provide honey or your sweetener of choice. Maple syrup or agave syrup are great alternatives if you cannot use honey.
